Requirements

• A rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830
  • Check out our guide on how to root the Galaxy Ace.
• Download ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 (recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip, 5.4 MB) for the Galaxy Ace
• Make sure your device’s battery still has at least 70% power. You don’t want the device to shut down in the middle of the procedure.
• Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.

Instructions

1. Copy the ClockworkMod Recovery ZIP file to your Galaxy Ace’s SD card.
2. Turn off your Galaxy Ace.
3. Boot into Recovery Mode by holding down the Power and Home buttons.
4. Select Update ZIP from SD card.
5. Select the ClockworkMod Recovery file.
6. Confirm that you want to flash the selected file.
7. After the file has finished installing, reboot your device.
8. Boot into Recovery Mode to test out your new ClockworkMod Recovery.
