How to Root the Motorola Droid 2 Global

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is a great Smartphone with a very good physical keyboard, but if you want more from it, you should ROOT the Motorola Droid 2 Global and update it to the latest ICS 4.0 OS. Why? Well, you’ll get a lot of speed and functionality improvements and a lot of new features that the Froyo and Gingerbread versions don’t have or they don’t make very good use of.

First you should take the necessary precautions:

• Backup your phone’s data and charge the battery to at least 80%.
• Enable the USB Debugging (Settings > Applications > Development).

Lets Begin

1. Download the z4root APK, copy it to your phone’s memory and install it.
2. Once installed, launch the z4root app and press the Permanent Root button (BusyBox will be installed as well).
3. After the phone reboots, check if the rooting process was a success by running the z4root app again; now, if the Re-root and Un-root buttons are visible, you have nothing to worry about, your phone has been rooted.
